Richard Florida declares Toronto best trick-or-treating city in Canada

Boo! ya: Torontonian kids reap the most ghostly booty (Image: Paul Sapiano)

Toronto’s cool factor has just grown exponentially. Urban theorist and imported know-it-all Richard Florida announced today that, according to his (probably infallible) Trick or Treater Index, Toronto is the best trick-or-treating city in Canada.

Some factors contributing to the illustrious distinction are the high turnout of kids, the city’s pedestrian friendliness and the percentage of artists and other “cultural creatives” who, when not drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon or riding fixed-gear bicycles, are probably decking their places out in some pretty cool Halloween decor.

Data aside, we couldn’t possibly argue with a professor who still thinks Black Sabbath is underrated. Next on Toronto’s domination list: best Movember city.

  1. I highly disagree with the ‘pedestrian friendly’ comment.

  2. It’s great that that some areas of Toronto have good Trick or Treating but other areas have to Trick or Treating at all. I live around Steels and Midland. It’s predominantly Asain and they don’t give out candy. Still trying to find a place where I can take my 5 year old.
