Hipster temple Oddfellows to close in February

Oddfellows—the only Queen West hipster hangout with a roving Winnebago—is closing. Eye Weekly reported the news earlier today, along with the fact that its building, 963 Queen Street West, is up for sale. Of course, this means the much-anticipated spring return of Oddfellows’ all-you-can-eat Sunday taco extravaganza is not to be.

We spoke briefly with former chef Matty Matheson, now at sister resto Parts and Labour, who told us Oddfellows will shutter for good on the first of February, and that he’s sad to see it go.

We couldn’t agree more.

  4. I ate brunch at Oddfellows a few times. Food was pretty tasty, but service was terrible almost every time. Maybe I just kept hitting the place on bad days. I’ll give this story a big huge expressionless face.
