Foodie Fortnight: the top five food events for February 18–March 4

In this edition of Foodie Fortnight: unconventional croissants, chef collaborations and a three-course meal devoted to beer and cheese.

Croissunday at Nadège Patisserie
Next Sunday, the city’s sleekest bakery is selling a limited-edition line of unconventional croissants. The flaky pastries come in flavours like “black squid ink,” “pink praline” and “matcha green tea.”

Chef’s Charity Almanac Dinner
Six of Toronto’s hottest chefs, including Marc Thuet, Dustin Gallagher and Hudson Kitchen’s Robbie Hojilla, are joining ranks to cook a lavish, six-course feast hosted by local caterer Provisions Catering and Events. All proceeds go to The Stop Community Food Centre.

Beer and Cheese Dinner at Indie Alehouse
The Junction pub teams up with Toronto cheesemonger Afrim Pristine to serve a three-course meal paired with sophisticated Alehouse beers. The menu includes a traditional Swiss fondue matched with a five-beer flight of barrel-aged brews and hoppy IPAs.

Recipe for Change at the St. Lawrence Market
Guests at Food Share’s annual foodie fundraiser will get to sample 20 wines, six local beers and snacks from thirty big-name Toronto chefs, like Pizzeria Libretto’s Rocco Agostino and Valdez chef Steve Gonzalez, who’ll be serving duck tamales.

Fashion Week Kick-Off Dinner
George restaurant on Queen East is once again hosting “Cuisine and Couture,” a celebratory runway-show-slash-feast. Attendees can admire local designer Caitlin Power’s tailored designs while enjoying a four-course meal by exec chef Lorenzo Loseto.
